Anime First Impression: May I Ask for One Final Thing?

We have all met someone we wanted to punch in the face. Someone who thought there would never be repercussions for their words or actions. Someone who needed to be humbled to be a better person. Unfortunately for most, that moment tends to stay in our imagination, and we are never able to act on it. The new fall season anime May I Ask for One Final Thing? sets up this exact premise, but with one change.

Review
Scarlet El Vandimion is betrothed to Prince Kyle as a child against her will. The Prince constantly bullies her through her childhood until one day he calls off their engagement. After taking abuse and insults for years, all bets are off when Scarlet pulls out a pair of fingerless gloves and puts the beatdown on an entire room of arrogant aristocrats.
There is something so cathartic about watching rude, entitled snobs get punched in the face, and it's an absolute joy watching Scarlet go ham on everyone and everything and the enjoyment she gets from it. It’s even more entertaining because Scarlet does all of this in high heels and a long red ballroom dress.

The animation from LIDENFILMS (Tokyo Revengers and Insomniacs After School) put some weight into Scarlet’s punches which make them seem like they have a stronger impact than her dainty body frame would have you believe she is capable of.
This doesn’t seem like a particularly deep anime story wise, but Scarlet’s character and the base narrative of some light political drama is good enough to keep you interested. There is a romance plot with the older prince, Julius, which will be interesting to see develop as his character borders on being a “nice guy” despite saying things Scarlet still considers a punchable offense.
If you are looking for something fun and entertaining to watch this fall season I recommend May I Ask for One Final Thing?
