Review

Keeping to the motif of having each issue narrated by a different member of the Gargoyle Clan, this issue is narrated by Broadway. This seems appropriate considering how this issue starts. Throughout the animated series, Broadway evolved as a character and this particular issue reflects these changes.

As always David Xanatos is the star of the show for every panel he is in and it's nice to see him again post showdown with Oberon, showing his own character growth. The Gargoyles team up with Xanatos to search for Maggie and Mary. There are some very cool callbacks to the cartoon series such as the force field Xanatos used with Oberon and references to Nightstone Unlimited and Demona.

Kambadais’s art again makes the fight scene of this issue really flow. The different colors and panels make the characters and their actions pop off the page. I don’t think they could have picked a better artist to draw this series!

This issue seemed to set the stage for other things that will take place in the future. It seems like we got our first little arc solved and we’re moving onto the next one, keeping with the episodic nature of the original cartoon. Not to say that the final panel of this issue doesn’t have a shocking revelation. As always looking forward to the next issue!
