Review

Another issue of this amazing series that has gripped me with the first page. I know I said issue four is my favorite thus far, but issue five has now taken that spot.

The opening monologue from Husdon this time is not only very emotional and impactful, but it also gives words to emotions from the TV series that fans have long since expected. The way in which these lines are spoken in Hudson's head as he watches Goliath be captured is truly moving. I could almost hear the late Edward Asner speak the lines aloud.

With Goliath captured, Hudson returns to the castle to notify the others. In Goliath’s absence, his second in command, Brooklyn, is now in charge. Fans of the show will remember how this usually goes and you can probably guess his next course of action. Brooklyn’s heart has always been in the right place, but he has always lacked experience. Though with his “Timedancing” trials behind him, maybe we’ll see some character growth from him as well.

Goliath wakes up in the last place you think a Gargoyle would want to be: Riker’s Island prison right next to the cells of two inmates he helped put in there. It's sad seeing the big guy in chains and an electric collar. Eliza isn’t too happy either when she shows up.

We get to see the Daily Tattler headlines (which is still a hilarious name for a newspaper) and Margot Yale as Assistant District Attorney. With Goliath imprisoned and a turf war about to take off, I can’t wait to read more!

Hudson has always been one of my favorite Gargoyles characters and it was great to see inside his head in this issue. I fell behind a few issues because of life, but luckily for me my local comic book store keeps up with my pull list and Gargoyles is always at the top!
