The first volume of Steel of the Celestial Shadows sets the stage with a historical setting steeped in mystery and the supernatural which will leave you running back to the store to buy the second volume.

I can count on one hand the number of stories that have gripped me in the first few pages. Some of my all time favorite series have taken me several chapters, even volumes before I became truly hooked on their stories. If you’ve read The Lord of the Rings you know what I’m talking about. Yet on rare occasions, something will resonate with you immediately and you’ll know, this is a story just for you. Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku is just such a story.

A new title was added to Shonen Jump’s lineup this past weekend. Joining its ranks is Embers by Kei Kurumazaki and Sotaro Nishii. While there are several exorcist, comedy, and action titles already in serialization, there is only one other sports manga which is the sports/romance series Blue Box.

Hype for the first chapter of a new series in Shonen Jump isn’t new. People get excited and look forward to the release of a manga all the time. However the excitement that surrounded Kagurabachi was staggering. Even though I found myself easily among those waiting until the chapters release with high hopes, the amount of people I saw voicing their own enthusiasm for the series debut.

Once you get started with this series its hard to put down!

This is a one shot spin off from the ongoing series Dr. Stone. Which isn’t full required reading before picking up this title as it can be read as a stand alone. However it is recommended to get the most impact for those who have already been reading the main series.

A solid ongoing Shonen Jump series for fans of Black Torch and Bleach.
Also everyone should watch Aliens.
